Jim and Debbie Kerr – Founders
Jim and Debbie Kerr opened Beachcomber Collingwood in 2002, dedicating themselves to creating a business built on exceptional customer service and community connections. After seven years of hard work and success, they expanded their vision and opened Beachcomber Barrie in 2009.
Before venturing into the hot tub industry, Jim and Debbie operated a thriving restaurant together. Drawn to the beauty and warmth of the Barrie area, they have called it home for over 50 years, building lasting relationships within the community along the way. As business owners, Jim and Debbie’s commitment to customer satisfaction and employee well-being has always been their top priority. Their genuine kindness and supportive nature have been instrumental in creating the welcoming, family-like atmosphere that defines both stores.
In July 2023, we bid a heartfelt farewell to Jim Kerr, whose legacy continues to inspire and guide us every day. To honour his incredible impact and enduring vision, we renamed the store Kerr Splash—a lasting tribute to the heart and soul he brought to Beachcomber Barrie. His memory lives on in our hearts and remains the foundation of everything we do. Jim’s presence will be forever missed but never forgotten, as we honor his vision and dedication in every interaction.
Rachelle Kerr – Managing Partner
Rachelle Kerr, a lifelong resident of Barrie, has deep roots in the community she loves. Since joining the family business in 2002, Rachelle has been instrumental in its growth and success. With over two decades of experience, she has built a wealth of knowledge in the hot tub industry, including product expertise, customer care, and operational management.
As a managing partner, working alongside her mother, Debbie, Rachelle is actively involved in both customer-facing and behind-the-scenes operations. She focuses on everything from strategic planning and staff development to managing inventory and ensuring smooth daily business operations. Her passion for fostering strong relationships with customers and the team drives the continued success of the business.
Rachelle’s leadership, combined with her dedication to efficiency and innovation, ensures the company remains a trusted and welcoming destination for hot tub customers in the community.
Cindy – Parts & Service Coordinator
Cindy is the cornerstone of our service team, serving as Service Manager and ensuring the seamless coordination of all repair and maintenance requests. She is responsible for scheduling service appointments, managing warranty claims, and assisting customers with a variety of technical inquiries, from troubleshooting issues to understanding the care and maintenance of their hot tubs. In addition to her service role, Cindy has also helped manage the store since 2023, bringing leadership and organization to our day to-day operations.
A graduate of Georgian College with a focus on marketing and advertising, Cindy combines her education with her passion for delivering exceptional customer service. With over 15 years of experience in the hot tub industry, Cindy has worked closely with a wide range of hot tub models and manufacturers, gaining an in-depth understanding of industry standards, repair processes, and best practices for hot tub care.
Cindy’s approachable and knowledgeable nature makes her an invaluable resource for our customers. Whether it’s addressing technical questions, recommending maintenance routines, or guiding owners through repair solutions, Cindy is committed to providing expert advice and support to ensure every hot tub performs at its best.
Steff – Marketing
Steff is the Marketing Manager at Kerr Splash, responsible for crafting our store campaigns and overseeing all social media content and marketing materials. With a strong foundation in music, art, and design from Sir Wilfrid Laurier University and Durham College, Steff combines creativity with strategic thinking to elevate the Kerr Splash brand.
Although Steff’s deep love for animals led her to manage a private equestrian facility in the scenic Blue Mountains, her passion for marketing and commitment to our team drew her back to the hot tub industry. Working primarily from home, she is dedicated to developing innovative ideas, ensuring a fresh and dynamic approach to our marketing efforts. If you happen to catch her in the store, Steff is known for her warm smile, friendly demeanor, and exceptional customer service. She’s always eager to assist customers, delivering expert advice with a personal touch.
Jon – Lead Sales Associate
Jon brings over two years of sales experience and more than a decade in customer relations to our team, making him a trusted advisor for customers exploring hot tubs, saunas, and accessories. A proud Creemore native, Jon combines his local roots with a customer-first approach to deliver exceptional service and expertise.
Jon studied Technical Foundations and Environmental Studies at Conestoga College, giving him a strong technical background that he applies to help customers select the ideal hot tub or
sauna to fit their needs and lifestyle.
Outside of work, Jon enjoys spending time with his family, racing, golfing, gaming, playing music, and hanging out with his loyal pup, Enzo. Whether you’re searching for the perfect hot tub, sauna, or maintenance essentials, Jon is here to guide you every step of the way with personalized advice and a friendly smile.
Lori – Customer Relations
Lori, a proud Innisfil resident since 1997, has been an integral part of our team. While she specializes in assisting customers with hot tub chemicals, accessories, water testing, and maintenance products, Lori also contributes significantly behind the scenes to ensure smooth operations.
With a lifelong passion for helping others and an extensive background in customer service, Lori is dedicated to providing personalized advice and support to meet the needs of every customer. Whether you’re selecting the right products to maintain your hot tub or seeking guidance on best practices, Lori’s expertise ensures a positive and stress-free experience.
Brianna – Administrator
Brianna has been a valued member of our team for over seven years. Starting her journey as the Service Manager at our Collingwood location, she quickly showcased her exceptional skills and dedication. Today, she expertly manages both the Collingwood store and office while also overseeing operations as the office administrator for our Barrie location.
With years of customer service experience and an unmatched level of organization, Brianna ensures smooth day-to-day operations and top-notch service for our customers. Her leadership
and attention to detail make her an indispensable part of our team.
In addition to her leadership roles, Brianna excels in handling critical administrative tasks that keep operations running smoothly. She oversees payroll, ensuring accuracy and timeliness for
the entire team, manages bank reconciliations with precision, and regularly analyzes reports to
provide valuable insights that drive decision-making. Her attention to detail and financial acumen are essential to the success of our day-to-day operations.
